Your Voice counts: Get Involved with North Wales Housing

Have you ever thought that what is important to you about your home, may also be important to other residents?

If you have, then why not ‘Get Involved’ and be part of the decision-making processes at North Wales Housing?

Juliet Jones did just that, after a leaflet came through her door inviting residents to ‘Get Involved’ Juliet has recently been elected as Vice Chair of the Residents Panel!

Juliet said:

“I thought this would be a very good scheme to be involved in, so I could help other residents.”

“Residents can help with the running of North Wales Housing, you need to come to a meeting as your voice counts.”

“The more people that give their first-hand experience the better, then things can be done and done correctly.”

Juliet added:

“When I first moved in my son was only 7, we have had a lovely home and looked after it.”

“Any time we have had any problems all I have had to do is to ring North Wales Housing and they’ve come out and done repairs and I have been happy.”

“North Wales Housing do a good job at the end of the day.”

The Panel, which is part of our governance structure, has responsibility for scrutinising our services and performance to ensure all residents receive the highest possible standards of service. Resident participation delivers clear benefits for all of us, our residents, staff and the organisation.

  • Better service and improved outcomes and ensuring value for money
  • Staff and residents working together for common goals
  • Informed and knowledgeable residents who have the skills and confidence to influence decisions
  • Increased resident satisfaction with your home and neighbourhood
  • Identifying actions for service and performance improvements and working together to implement these recommended improvements
  • Opportunities to develop new skills and meet new people

If you would like to volunteer but prefer something a little less formal then, you can take part in the Residents Forum, they get together once every couple of months on line in the evening.

You can also just pop in occasionally and join in our new Resident Voice meetings and even be rewarded with a £5 voucher for taking part.

Alternatively you can be part of our online Sounding Board. Sounding Board members give us feedback on new forms and policies and play a valuable part in making sure NWH documents are user friendly and accessible.
