Cae Garnedd Celebrates a Decade of Extra Care Living
Cae Garnedd, one of North Wales Housing’s Extra Care scheme, has marked its 10th anniversary with a special celebration for residents, friends, and family.
Opened in 2015 in partnership with Gwynedd Council, Cae Garnedd in Penrhosgarnedd, Bangor, was North Wales Housing’s third Extra Care scheme and the first of its kind in Gwynedd. Over the last decade, it has provided high-quality independent living for residents aged 55 and over, offering flexible care and support in a safe and welcoming community.
The residents at Cae Garnedd are delighted with their home.
France Wynne-Williams, one of four residents who has lived at Cae Garnedd since its opening, shared her experience:
“I’m very happy here! It’s comfortable and very convenient.”
Josephine Johnstone, another long-standing resident, added:
“The flats are lovely, and it’s very nice here. The minute I saw the flat, I wanted it – and I’m still here! There’s a great atmosphere, and Debbie is very helpful. I’m very happy here.”
Linda Mcdonald-Tipton, also a resident for 10 years, said:
“These are luxury flats, and we can do what we want! It’s heaven here.”
With 42 modern, self-contained apartments, Cae Garnedd enables residents to maintain independence and security while enjoying access to on-site support and care services tailored to their individual needs. The scheme also offers a range of leisure activities and high-quality facilities to support residents’ well-being.
